PROTECTION AGAINST COLD
WHEN WORKING IN COLD CONDITIONS YOU NEED:
Jacket, lined trousers, warm underwear, lined headgear, suitable shoes and gloves. When you are moving slowly, the clothes should remain closed. If you increase your level of activity, you open up the clothes in order to avoid sweating. Moisture in the clothes will reduce the level of protection. Wind increases the need for protection. Snickers offers a wide range for different degrees of cold and for different types of work.
The first figure (beside the pictogram) indicates insulation value, the second figure indicates airpermeability class and the third figure indicates water vapour resistance.
Thermal resistance (insulation)
Insulation value with underwear ansemble type A or B
A: Undershirt with long sleeves, Long underpants, Socks and felt slippers.
B: Undershirt with long sleeves, Long underpants, Socks, felt slippers, Thermojacket, Thermopants, Knitted gloves and Balaclava
Airpermeability Class
1,2 or 3 (class 3 is the best)
Water vapour resistance
How well does the garment "breath", the lower resistance the better Class: 1,2 or 3 (class 3 is the best)
All these figures are for the combination of jacket and trousers
